Leaving a Legacy

 Wednesday, January 9, 2013

This week at church the sermon theme paraphrased was, "The decisions you make at pivotal moments of your life, effect future generations." We all leave a legacy, what will yours be?

Letter to James on his 1st birthday:
You are my first born. You are currently my only. I have great hopes for you. When you were in my womb I just wanted you to be healthy. When you were first born I just wanted you to eat, sleep, and grow well. But now, since you eat well, sleep well, and are a healthy growing boy, I have allowed myself to expand my hopes for you.

I pray that you are Generous & Kind
That you are Conscious (of feelings, of other's needs, of the Earth, of health)
That you love foods of all flavors and music of all genres
That you work hard, but rest and enjoy Peace: in the company of others & in solitude
That you become an abstract thinker & problem solver.
That you let your passions lead you into fulfilling work.
That you are wise with relationships and money.
That you know peace, love & forgiveness through knowing Jesus as your savior.
That you never stop searching for Truth.
That you always look for Good.
That you overcome fear of uncertainty & difference with Love
That you Laugh everyday.

I knew I would love you, but I had no idea how much joy you would bring to my heart and our lives.

Love,
Mom
